Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. 2 Chronicles 20:22 After the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir were set to mount an attack on the people of God, they were admittedly afraid. They knew they were up against an insurmountable threat. The adversary had them outnumbered and were well organized. The people look to God to deliver them and received glorious news. God informed them to not concern themselves with the threat on the horizon. God would not only fight their battle, but the result would be victory. Judah appointed praisers to go before the army and to sing praises unto God. As they praised, God shifted the chaos from Judah to the adversary and they destroyed each other. Soldiers are trained for warfare. In addition to being trained to use a variety of weapons designed for warfare, the soldier is also trained to be a weapon. As the people of God, we are instruments of worship and also weapons of demonic destruction. The way the enemy attacks is varied and so should be our methods of defense. We fight so much with our hands clenched that we forget that uplifted hands are just as powerful. Sometimes faith means to stand still and know that He is the Lord. God is saying to position yourself, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord who is with you. It means that when faced with problems and situations, we should put forth our praise and trust that God will work it out. Our praise calls our mighty God into our situation and guarantees victory over what comes against us. As we face another week, don’t allow storms, situations, and issues to threaten your peace, joy, or happiness. Praise Him anyhow! Your praise is a weapon! Position yourself, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord who is with you!
Be blessed and be encouraged
