If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; And if a tree falls to the south or north, in the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie. Ecclesiastes 11:3
Life is a lot of things. Life can be easy for some, and hard for others. Life can be full of laughter for some, and it can be full of tears for others. It is the things that make up life for us that defines the life we have. In life, there are things that are changing and things that are constant. One of things that checks off both of those boxes is trouble. The Bible tells us that “Man, that is born of a woman, is of a few days, and full of trouble.” Sometimes those troubles are like clouds full of rain, where you can see the signs. These are things that you can anticipate and somewhat make preparation for. Then there are constant problems and you never know when they will befall you. They are like unwanted guests that just fall through without warning. These are the problems that fall and lie at your feet to trip you up or to block your path. Trouble doesn’t check your availability. Trouble does not ask if you are ready or not. Trouble is intrusive, it will try to interrupt your life when it wants. Trouble does not respect boundaries, it will try to go where it wants in your life. Although trouble seeks to disturb your mood and disrupt your efforts, don’t be disheartened. Remember this, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” When trouble comes, take refuge in His Word. When trouble threatens, draw strength from the promises of God. I’m so glad that trouble don’t last always, but the Word of God is everlasting! This week, whenever trouble in any form decides to make a visit, whether you are ready for it or not, take it to the Lord.
Be blessed and be encouraged!
