“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”
Have you ever been the recipient of an opportunity that totally changed your life? One that provided you with the benefit of experiencing life in a whole new way. There are many stories of people who grew up in poverty and some life changing event caused them to be millionaires. While some use their wealth to live in excess, there are others who use it as opportunity to serve others. They use it as opportunity to be a hand to help someone less fortunate to get on their feet. They were interested in helping someone else to have a life changing opportunity. Not just by giving someone a fish, but teaching them how to fish. Don’t show them just how to get blessed, but how to be blessed. We are to serve one another. In 1 Corinthians 12:27, we are told “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” If one particular member is built up over the rest of the members of the body, you have a strong member and a weak body. Our freedom from sin is not an opportunity to live in excess. It is an opportunity to be a hand to help that person on their knees to get on their feet. In John 15:13, we are told “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” While Jesus laying down His life showed His obedience to the Father, in John 13:1, Jesus lays Himself low to wash the feet of His disciples. If the One we call Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace could humble Himself to wash feet, what’s our excuse? This week, let us be intentional in lovingly serving one another. Tell someone about an opportunity that will totally change their life. Show your love in serving by sharing the life that Jesus laid down! Share how it changed your life.
Be blessed and be encouraged!
